Platte County School District Partnership Courses
Through a partnership with Platte County School District, Essential Skills/Awesome Careers can be divided into two courses for Platte County students.

Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors can take Foundations of Technical Careers. The course will be an opportunity for students to learn technical concepts in the areas of safety, tools, electrical concepts, mechanical concepts, troubleshooting, precision measurement, blueprints and drawings, and project work in technical careers. Students will also begin to explore technical careers in the career clusters of architecture and construction, manufacturing, and transportation & logistics.

This course builds upon the technical skills that are learned in Foundations of Technical Careers. Students will make additional connections in the concepts and exploration listed above. Students will be able to complete activities and hands-on projects that are aligned to NCC's six technical career courses and each unit will feature direct instruction, individual exploration and lab activities.
