This two-year program prepares students for continued education towards an Associate Degree and/or an Airframe and Power Plant Certification. Students may also earn their remote pilot certificate enabling students to fly Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The Aviation Maintenance portion of the program includes basic concepts of aircraft engines & components, hand tools, fabrication of material, aircraft inspection, wiring, and ground service equipment. The UAS program covers topics from the components of the Unmanned Aircraft to factors affecting UAS aerodynamics and performance. Students gain knowledge to sit for the aeronautical knowledge exam to earn a remote pilot certificate while in school. 

PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

Mr. Berry began his aviation career in 1983, right out of high school. He attended the Airframe and PowerPlant program at Maple Woods Community College. By 1986, he earned his A&P and Pilot licenses while taking flight lessons at Roosterville International Airport and became a pilot in the US Air Force Reserves. Mr. Berry earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Aviation Technology from Central Missouri State University (UCM). In 1990, he joined Northwest Airlines and started his career in commercial aviation, working on aircrafts like 727, DC-9, DC-10, A32 and 747. In 2005, Mr. Berry worked for NASA in Tucson, AZ, where he contributed to the 747 Space Shuttle Carrier and notably worked on the SR-71. He later returned to Northwest Airlines, which became Delta Airlines, and became a technical writer. In 2016, Mr. Berry began working at Aviation Technology Services, continuing his career in the aviation industry.
